Portomarin
So after the fun 23 km, it's time to check out Portomarin.
The view is really the highlight. The fortress church was quite interesting but frankly, I was too hungry and far too hot to have a wander. So off to lunch....I had gambas (prawns with garlic) last night and the octopus did look inviting so when in Rome....
There it is again! Galician specialty, pulpos and the pimientos padrones which are disappointing in that they were more green pepper than chili. But as one Spaniard said to me, you never know if the next bite might be a really hot one! And the ensalada. You know, it was nothing to write home about but I was so hungry I ate the whole thing. The tourists in the other table were in shock but I did say to them I was ravenous! Those energy bars are just not enough to keep me going.
So off I went in search of a massage.....what was I thinking?! This is not the Far East where every small town has got some massage operation (whatever kind there is but the kosher variety is still on offer.)
Oh well....time for a long siesta and feet resting before dinner since tomorrow is another day on the Camino de Santiago.
