The Farm Club: Still An Institution In Verbier After 45 Years
The Farm Club just keeps going. People who holiday in Verbier have invariably spent the night in this world famous nightclub, vaguely remembering the details of the clubbing evening but knowing that they had great fun. If you see anybody in Geneva airport or in the slopes looking a bit green and very fragile, they probably had an evening out at this haunt.
For those expecting a very posh, large nightclub, the seventies appearance (now back in fashion) in this small club is a bit of surprise. The music is also very 70's with few current chart hits, which seems to have become quite popular with both the young and old clientele. People love it, jumping up and down to "I Will Survive" after a bit of Justin Bieber. This wedding playlist is ever familiar but the club's popularity is due to the fact it's unpretentious fun, full of a wide mix of people who can afford £350 for a bottle of vodka, and like the relaxed, anything goes approach. Ski bums, millionaires and celebrities all hit the dance floor in a spirit of unselfconscious fun.
There is a smoking room at the club but if you want a continuation of the social scene, then go to the women's toilets. You find both men and women, having drinks on the sofa, smoking and maybe even having a bop or two!
Attire is casual (they won't turn you away, however, if you are dressed up) and you need to book a table if it's a weekend. When they play New York, New York it's to signal it's time to go (4 am) and stagger to the bakery to have a croissant. As to what goes on as the night unfolds, let's just say what happens in Verbier, stays in Verbier.

Still, it was better, more fun, more welcoming, great music when giuseppe and serafino Berardi ran the place. Don't you think?
