Sun, Challenging Trails, Ryokan, Onsen, Shiatsu, Kaiseki!!!

Today we walked from Chikatsuyu to Yumomine Onsen. We were fortunate the expected rain did not materialize until we were lounging and relaxing in the onsen. Yet again the scenery is spectacular and nothing can convey the zen like atmosphere than a photo.

Of course it's not perfect, early starts, heavy backpacks with clothes and food plus water, missed bus stops and almost missed trains because of the language barrier, and I even ate some soap which I thought was a sweetie! And as an even bigger language misinterpretation we thought the don't litter sign meant the bears would clean us up!

Slippery descents.

We ended the day sipping well deserved sake yet again, going to the hot spring baths and having a shiatsu massage by little old but very strong Japanese men. Dinner then bed!
