Photos/Six Senses Laamu, Maldives

Six Senses Laamu, Olhuveli Island, Laamu Atoll.

View from the sea plane from Male.

Lagoon Villa with pool (lovely but don't forget the mosquito repellant). The plunge pool is perfect for a post beach dip.

Outside showers, dining and lounging on the upper deck.

Beach access from villa. The water is so amazingly turquoise and so warm I could float in it for hours.

Water villas, if you'd rather be on the water and jump in and snorkel on demand. Just don't sleepwalk.

Personally, I prefer beach access. Easy access to the complimentary 40 ice cream flavours stand.

Fusion, Organic Mediterranean, Japanese and Vietnamese restaurants, Chill Bar, visiting chefs, wine tastings, chili menus...get ready to pile on the pounds! It's worth it.

Pizza and burgers at the pool, though admittedly, I never tried them.  Too busy concentrating on the other restaurants and the ice cream.

Gym, to prevent pound pile on. The view is pretty amazing from the running machine.

Massage (seriously good deep tissue/sports massages), various treatments, yoga including vertical (if you fancy hanging upside down).

Water sports/Dive centre: windsurfing, diving, snorkel, waterski, the whole lot. Enough to keep anyone busy and exhausted.  Highly recommend paddle boarding around the island for a good workout.

Surfing only minutes away, if you have the energy to keep getting back on the board. Fun!

Take that kayak out and go around the island. The water is this colour everywhere.

Water hammock, get ready to be slapped around by the waves! Still, why haven't I seen that before?

Fabulous sunsets. What's not to like? We'll be back.
